The Michigan League for Public Policy seeks a development data and stewardship coordinator. This is an opportunity for someone with previous CRM system management experience, development stewardship and research skills. Working closely with the Development and Communications Departments, this role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial, directory and donor data is maintained by the organization. This role is also responsible for compiling reports, donor acknowledgments and donor research.
Primary Tasks and Functions:
- Manage the development database, maintaining accuracy, data integrity, prompt recording of charitable gifts and execution of reports.
- Analyze donor and prospect data to identify actionable patterns, trends and insights; design reports; and assist the Chief Development Officer and Communications Director in creating annual development plans, campaign strategies and research to support cultivation and solicitation of gifts.
- Assist with donor research and provide accurate donor profiles for major gift portfolios.
- Generate acknowledgments, receipts, and pledge reminders, and automate correspondence as needed.
- Work in partnership with the Finance Department to reconcile transactions.
- Advance personal and organizational equity, diversity and inclusion efforts by fostering and maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Qualifications: While no candidate will have every desirable quality, the ideal candidate would have:
- Personal values aligned with the League and commitment to the League’s mission.
- 3 years’ experience working in a nonprofit setting.
- Prior experience as the primary manager of a fundraising CRM and strong knowledge of database functions.
- Proficiency in database management, CRM systems or other fundraising/relationship management software.
- Strong technical skills including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Well-organized and detail oriented.
- Experience with Every Action preferred, but not necessary.
The position is full-time and non-exempt. The League is based in Lansing, MI and utilizes a hybrid work environment, with the ability to have most of the work done remotely. Periodic, in-person meetings in Lansing are required, including one staff meeting a month. There may be some travel for meetings or presentations. Candidates must reside in the state of Michigan.

The starting salary range for this position is $60,000 to $66,000. Pay is based on a number of factors including job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience and internal pay equity. The League offers an excellent benefits package that includes health insurance, dental and vision insurance; 401(K); paid family and medical leave up to 12 weeks a year; sick time; generous vacation time and 11 holidays/days off a year. The League office is closed December 24-January 1.
