Note:
This position is being offered as a Hybrid position. There will be times that it will be appropriate for you to work from home. There will be other times that you will be required to work onsite for meetings and in-person investigation. This position will be 95% remote work. May require working during non-business hours and on weekends.
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment.
On-Call rotation is required for this position.
Job Summary:
The HITS Clinical & Revenue Cycle IT (CRC) division is responsible for more than 350 clinical and revenue cycle applications that clinicians, staff, and patients rely upon every day. The CRC team has subdivisions that support inpatient, ambulatory, departmental, and revenue cycle areas across Michigan Medicine (MM). CRC also oversees many of the major IT platforms and applications such as the electronic health record, virtual care, pharmacy, radiology, radiation oncology, registration, document management, billing, and much more. The CRC team is highly relied upon across the healthcare system and collaborates with operational partners to provide excellent service to the MM staff. Staff within CRC often interact with customers on a regular basis by implementing and configuring workflows, enhancements, optimizations, and new modules or software while also ensuring adequate change control and testing processes occur. Team members work on a vast array of projects that propel MM into the future.
As an application systems analyst on the Cadence Team, you would help configure, update, and support the appointment scheduling and related features in our MiChart Epic vendor application. This includes gathering and documenting requirements, assessing feasibility, determining implementation options, working with the vendor to build and test features, releasing them to users, and providing ongoing support. This position works with other analysts and with people from operational and clinical areas to support users and applications.

Analysis, Specification, and Configuration
- Develop solutions to user and business requirements using an in-depth understanding of key business processes and knowledge of system functionality.

- Assist with project planning and coordination.
- Analyze and recommend courses of action to management.

Information Management and Support
- Plan and execute system upgrades to introduce new features with minimal impact to users.
- Research and provide information on the system upon request.
- Perform systems duties required to meet HITS and UMHS requirements (e.g., HIPAA, Compliance, information security, etc.).
- Investigate customer issues and provide technical support.
- Assist in preparation and review of training materials.
Leadership
Provide guidance and training to other team members.
Required Qualifications:
Requirements for Senior Level
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 Years of experience
Requirements for Intermediate Level
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2-3 Years of experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with troubleshooting and resolving users' application issues
- Experience with creating and maintaining project plans, including tasks, milestones, dependencies, effort, and dates
- Experience with troubleshooting applications on Windows and/or Windows Server, including use of event logs and other tools
- Experience with a complex technical environment in a large healthcare organization
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications like Work, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Experience with creating and updating reports using tools like SQL or Tableau
- Experience with an issue tracking and change management system like ServiceNow
- Experience using Epic applications, especially Cadence and the MyChart patient portal
