Job Summary

The University of Michigan Department of Pediatrics, Division of Adolescent Medicine is seeking a part-time BC/BE Adolescent Medicine Physician with a particular interest in providing care for the college age population. Candidates should have broad training in all areas of adolescent medicine and be experienced in providing clinical care to adolescents with complex medical and mental health needs. Additionally, candidates should have experience and skills in working with diverse populations of patients, learners, and colleagues. The Division currently provides outpatient consultative clinical care for adolescents with a wide variety of healthcare needs, including eating disorders, chronic illness care, depression, anxiety, and reproductive health issues. Other specific multidisciplinary programs run by the division include the University of Michigan Comprehensive Eating Disorders Program and the Child & Adolescent Gender Services Program. The division works closely with the University of Michigan's Adolescent Health Initiative on a variety of public health and advocacy programs for youth, the University Health Service, and school-based health centers through the Regional Alliance for Healthy Schools. Teaching is a key component of the position involving medical students, resident, and fellow level trainees. The Adolescent Medicine fellowship program was founded in 2019 and is the only program in the state of Michigan. Opportunities for participation in clinical research and quality improvement projects are abundant. Academic rank on the clinical track is open, commensurate with experience.

The hospital also offers a new and larger home for specialty services not offered anywhere else in Michigan for newborns, children and pregnant women.

Required Qualifications*

The ideal candidate will have an MD or DO degree, Applicants must be board-certified or board-eligible in Adolescent Medicine and will hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the State of Michigan. Evidence of excellence in clinical care and clinical and/or didactic teaching is expected.
