Job Summary
The Department of Pathology at Michigan Medicine has open advanced learner positions within the Divisions of Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. We are seeking candidates who will participate in the teaching and clinical-based research activities within the Department of Pathology. Candidates will supervise the activities of House Officers and medical students.
Who We Are
The Department of Pathology is among the top pathology programs in the country, serving not only the world-class providers and patients of the University of Michigan Health System, but also numerous patients through the Michigan Medicine Laboratories outreach division. With over 200 faculty members and extramural research support totaling close to $33 million, the Department is ranked 5th in NIH funding nationally. The departmental education programs include nine ACGME-accredited fellowships, multiple subspecialty training programs, and is one of the most highly-ranked pathology residencies in the country.
Required Qualifications*
Doctor of Medicine degree (or equivalent), American Board of Pathology board certified or board eligible in AP/CP, AP or CP. Hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the State of Michigan. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is expected.
Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
