Job Summary
UMHHC Safety Management Services is seeking an ergonomics specialist to develop, implement, promote, and maintain ergonomic injury prevention programs and projects. The work involves conducting ergonomic assessments for a variety of work areas, including nursing, laboratory, warehouse, housekeeping, and general office, generating reports, developing and delivering training, and presenting results to managers.
NOTE: The successful candidate may be an entry to senior-level individual. Experience with clinical assessment of mobility needs of a wide variety of patient populations strongly preferred. Final job classification and compensation will be based on the combination of relevant educational qualifications and experience.

M-F daytime hours, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, with some flexibility allowed after completing the probationary period. Additional work hours are required during evenings, nights and weekends to respond to institutional needs.
Modes of Work

- Support the institutional Safe Patient Handling & Mobility (SPHM) program, including performing risk assessments and gap analyses, identifying interventions, design SPHM elements into the built clinical environment, conduct product evaluations, design and deliver equipment training, facilitate and participate in ongoing multidisciplinary program development and CQI activities.
