What are the responsibilities and job description for the RES ASSOC I (TEMP) position at Michigan Medicine?

Responsibilities*
The applicant will be involved in several research projects, and will have opportunities to make original scientific contributions, interpret and analyze results under the guidance of other senior researchers in the lab. The applicant will learn and use negative-stain electron microscopic and cryogenic electron microscopic approaches to study the architecture of the large protein complex
with protein expression, purification, enzyme characterization, and image collection and processing.
In addition, candidates will be expected to provide lab management support in the form of routine laboratory maintenance, record keeping, and compliance with University of Michigan regulations. The candidate will also mentor and assist students with research techniques and the use of instruments to help advance the research objectives of the laboratory.
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree strongly preferred with experience in a laboratory setting, working closely with other senior researchers.
Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
