What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Researcher (Faculty) position at Michigan Medicine?
Responsibilities*
In the field of clinical pain research, design studies and projects to generate preliminary data and develop and implement Statistical Analysis Plans (SAP) for newly initiated studies and clinical trials. Collaborate with research team members to establish robust statistical frameworks. Supervise and manage data processes within the research center, ensuring the integrity, security, and accessibility of research data. Apply advanced statistical methods to analyze existing datasets and conduct innovative statistical data analysis techniques for various types of clinical trials. Head the analytic core for the clinical research group at the Back & Pain Center, collaborating with analysts across other pain research teams to ensure cohesive data analysis strategies. Prepare and submit research findings for publication in scientific journals. Mentor/train clinical faculty and trainees in regard to relevant statistical methodologies. Up to 100% work from home permitted.
Required Qualifications*
Requires PhD degree in Statistics 2 years of experience supporting pain research: using statistical methods, including latent profile/class analysis, multivariate analysis, longitudinal models, high-dimensional data analysis, and generalized mixed models; designing and/or collecting clinical trial data to address research questions; developing Statistical Analysis Plans (SAP) for new studies and grant applications, including detailed statistical model power analysis, missing data and safety analysis; and supervising data collection and verification procedures across multiple platforms, including Qualtrics, REDCap, and personal activity tracking devices.
Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
