Position Overview:
Michigan Nanny Solutions is excited to present an excellent opportunity for a highly flexible and professional Part-Time Nanny to join a warm and welcoming family in Kalamazoo. This role involves providing loving and attentive care for an active and curious 16-month-old boy while supporting the family’s unique schedule as two emergency department physicians. The role offers a flexible, variable schedule with 20 guaranteed hours per week, starting in early-mid January 2025. • Flexible Scheduling: This position is perfect for a dependable nanny who enjoys variety in their workweek. Work 2-3 shifts each week, including some weekends, with shifts typically ranging from 6 to 10 hours in length. Most working hours will fall between 12pm and 12am, with the earliest potential start time of 6am and the latest potential end time of 2am. You will know your schedule 6 weeks in advance, allowing you to plan ahead.

Your Responsibilities:

• Daily Engaging Care: Provide loving and attentive care to the family’s 16-month-old son. Use the weekly theme-based curriculum provided by Michigan Nanny Solutions to plan activities that encourage fine and gross motor skill development, sensory exploration, and early learning. Engage in daily reading, interactive play time, and outdoor play time exploring the neighborhood park and trails.
• Household Tasks: Perform child-related tasks such as the child’s laundry, cleaning up after meals and washing dishes used, sanitizing toys, cleaning up after playtime and other activities, and maintaining a tidy, organized environment in the child’s bedroom and play spaces.
• Pet Care: Assist with the family’s friendly 15-pound Pomsky by refilling the water bowl, letting the dog out into the fenced yard, and bringing the dog on stroller walks with the toddler, weather permitting.

Who We’re Looking For:

• Experience: You have at least three years of professional childcare experience, ideally with toddlers. A focus on early development and encouraging milestones is highly valued by this family! Preference will be given to candidates with long-term nanny experience and/or who have a degree in Early Childhood Education.
• Skills: You are organized, attentive, and prioritize the child’s safety and wellbeing. You understand how to set boundaries while maintaining a nurturing approach. You value ongoing collaboration with parents and are skilled at maintaining open and honest communication.
• Personality: You are kind, trustworthy, dependable, and enthusiastic about building a strong connection with the child and family. Your positive attitude and professional demeanor make you a trusted and valued member of the families you work with.
• Professionalism: You have a strong work ethic, are highly reliable, and are committed to making a long-term impact in your role. You are comfortable working alongside busy professionals and can adapt to changing schedules.

Additional Requirements:

• At least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the USA

· Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation

• Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)

· Ability to pass a thorough background check, motor vehicle report, and drug test

• Up-to-date on standard childhood vaccinations, including DTaP. Ongoing flu and COVID vaccinations are NOT required.
