What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-Time Infant Nanny in Haslett position at Michigan Nanny Solutions?
Exciting Long-Term Full-Time Nanny Opportunity in Haslett!
Position Overview: Michigan Nanny Solutions is excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated and professional Full-Time Nanny to join a warm and welcoming family in Haslett. This role focuses on providing attentive and enriching care for their delightful infant daughter, who will be 4-months-old when the position starts. The base weekly schedule is Monday-Friday from 9AM-5PM, with occasional flexibility needed to work 8AM-4PM or 10AM-6PM instead, based on parental work schedules. The family is offering 40 guaranteed hours per week, and hopes their nanny can start by Monday, March 3, 2025.
This long-term role is ideal for a professional nanny who is passionate about supporting a child’s development through engaging activities, play-based learning, and consistent care, from infancy through preschool!
Why You’ll Love This Role:
- Collaborative, Family-Centered Care: These first-time parents are excited to welcome a childcare expert to their family and can’t wait to have you join them on their long-term parenting journey! As a key partner in their baby girl’s development, you’ll play an essential role in fostering growth and supporting her milestones as she grows from infancy through her early years.
- Enriching Daily Activities: Spend your days engaging the child with developmental play and intentional, engaging activities. You’ll get to take the lead on planning activities like tummy time, sensory play, and other stimulating, hands-on experiences. As she grows, you’ll focus on teaching-through-play to keep her learning through exploration and interaction with the world around her. This active, health-oriented family encourages their nanny to prioritize daily outdoor playtime, including walks with the child and the family’s small, friendly dog during mild weather, and their ideal nanny will naturally want to spend as much of their days adventuring together outside as possible. When the baby girl is older, the nanny will also be able to plan outings, playdates, and other social activities!
- Opportunities for Growth: The family hopes to establish a lasting relationship with a nanny who will grow alongside their daughter and become a cherished member of their parenting team. There will be opportunities for occasional overnight care when one parent’s travel coincides with another parent’s overnight shifts (approx. 2-3 times per year), and a nanny who able to provide occasional overnight coverage (with lots of advance notice!) would be a bonus in helping ensure both parents can be at work when they need to!
Your Responsibilities:
- Intentional Childcare: Provide nurturing, attentive care by creating a safe, loving, and stimulating environment. Support physical, emotional, and developmental needs through activities like tummy time, music, and age-appropriate play.
- Educational Engagement: Utilize play-based learning to encourage exploration, creativity, and growth. Plan engaging activities to promote the child’s development and early learning milestones.
- Light Child-Related Housekeeping: Assist with child-related tasks such as preparing bottles, washing baby laundry and dishes, sanitizing toys and baby equipment regularly, and keeping her play areas and bedroom organized and tidy.
- Collaboration with Parents: Maintain open and collaborative communication with the family about routines, milestones, and any developmental observations.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Experience: You have at least three years of professional childcare experience as a nanny or daycare employee caring for infants and toddlers. A minimum of one year of experience working with infants, ideally with the same child(ren) from infancy through early toddlerhood, is required. A degree in Early Childhood Education and/or a strong understanding of infant developmental milestones is highly valued by this family!
- Skills: You excel at fostering a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for young children. You’re skilled at open communication with parents and thrive in a collaborative, family-centered environment. The child’s mother’s primary language is Portuguese, and the family would LOVE to hire a nanny who does as well!
- Personality: You bring warmth, patience, and positivity to your role as a family’s trusted caregiver. You enjoy forming close, lasting bonds with the children and families you support and take pride in being a respected and valued member of the parenting team. You are an active, health-conscious person who is passionate about role-modeling healthy lifestyle habits for children, by encouraging them to explore new healthy foods, finding ways to incorporate active playtime into your daily routine, and sharing your love of the outdoors with daily outside adventures and exploration.
- Professionalism: You are punctual, reliable, and dedicated to maintaining high standards of care. Your strong work ethic and organizational skills make you a valuable part of the team. As a career nanny, you are looking for a long-term commitment and are dedicated to being this family’s nanny, and the little girl’s best friend, for many years to come!
Additional Requirements:
- At least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the USA
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug test
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Up-to-date vaccinations, including an annual flu shot (COVID not required)
Perks and Benefits:
- Competitive Pay: Earn $22-$24 per hour based on experience and education. Paid time off, paid sick days, paid holidays, mileage reimbursement, and other standard nanny benefits are included.
- Guaranteed Hours: Enjoy 40 guaranteed hours per week, with slight flexibility needed for start and end times based on parental work schedules.
