Position Summary
The Sterile Reprocessing Technician is responsible for ensuring the effective decontamination, disinfection, and sterilization of medical instruments and equipment to meet safety and quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare instrumentation for the decontamination process by disassembly and pre-processing.
- Operate all disinfection and sterilization equipment according to manufactures’ specialties
- Adheres to infection control protocols, including maintenance of instruments processing logs
- Assembles processed instruments
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Maintains familiarity with and abides by the Center’s policies and procedures
- Supports and participates in the Centers quality improvement program.
Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications
- At least one year of experience in Sterile Processing
- Graduate of Accredited Program in Sterile Processing or Approved on the Job Training with CBSPD or IAHCSMM Certification required
