Essential Duties:
As a healthcare provider at MPCP, you will:
- Provide patient assessments, evaluations, and treatments in your assigned practice(s) under the supervision of physicians, in accordance with Michigan state guidelines.
- Perform physical exams and procedures, diagnose and treat common injuries, and consult with physicians for complex cases.
- Order routine lab tests and radiological studies, document care in medical records, prescribe medications, and manage patient care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to plan and coordinate patient care.
- Provide patient counseling on preventive health and wellness.
- Offer formal and informal educational programs for both patients and staff.
- Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives, including peer reviews.
Supervision Received:
You will report directly to the Chief Medical Officer and Administration.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform a full range of physical tasks, including lifting and handling patients, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination.
- Standing and walking for extended periods, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work under stress, with normal visual and auditory acuity.
Typical Working Conditions:
- Exposure to communicable diseases and other clinic-related conditions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of professional medical practices and the ability to provide effective patient care.
- Understanding of organizational policies and procedures related to patient care.
- Proficiency in using medical equipment and instruments.
- Awareness of safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment.
- Ability to apply medical principles, methods, and techniques in patient care.
- Skilled in taking medical histories, interpreting findings, and documenting care.
- Strong communication skills, both with patients and colleagues, and the ability to handle emergencies effectively.
Education:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
Experience:
- New graduates are welcome to apply.
License/Certification Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- State of Michigan Medical License.
- State of Michigan Controlled Substance License (if applicable).
- Federal DEA License.
- Board Certification.
