Essential Duties:

As a healthcare provider at MPCP, you will:

  • Provide patient assessments, evaluations, and treatments in your assigned practice(s) under the supervision of physicians, in accordance with Michigan state guidelines.
  • Perform physical exams and procedures, diagnose and treat common injuries, and consult with physicians for complex cases.
  • Order routine lab tests and radiological studies, document care in medical records, prescribe medications, and manage patient care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to plan and coordinate patient care.
  • Provide patient counseling on preventive health and wellness.
  • Offer formal and informal educational programs for both patients and staff.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives, including peer reviews.


Supervision Received:

You will report directly to the Chief Medical Officer and Administration.


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to perform a full range of physical tasks, including lifting and handling patients, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work under stress, with normal visual and auditory acuity.


Typical Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to communicable diseases and other clinic-related conditions.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of professional medical practices and the ability to provide effective patient care.
  • Understanding of organizational policies and procedures related to patient care.
  • Proficiency in using medical equipment and instruments.
  • Awareness of safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ability to apply medical principles, methods, and techniques in patient care.
  • Skilled in taking medical histories, interpreting findings, and documenting care.
  • Strong communication skills, both with patients and colleagues, and the ability to handle emergencies effectively.


Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.


Experience:

  • New graduates are welcome to apply.


License/Certification Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • State of Michigan Medical License.
  • State of Michigan Controlled Substance License (if applicable).
  • Federal DEA License.
  • Board Certification.
