Purpose : The Refugee Systems of Care Specialist position will provide critical supports to the home visiting system in Michigan as it adjusts to better meet the needs of unique refugee populations in the state. By supporting planning, training, resource development, technical assistance, and data tracking, this position will act as an important connector between home visiting programs and the best / promising practices that allow them to reach and serve refugee communities. The Refugee Systems of Care Specialist will be a critical support to home visiting providers serving refugee families in Michigan.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Planning
- Learn, understand, and respond to the needs of home visiting programs to better serve the needs of refugee populations.
- Explore and suggest model and programmatic enhancements to improve cultural responsiveness and trauma informed practices.
- Support the development and execution of an action plan to respond to the needs of home visiting programs serving refugee families
Training, Technical Assistance, and Resource Development
Data Tracking

Qualifications / Requirements :
Education : Bachelor's Degree required; however, a range of educational / experiential combination will be considered to best meet the needs of this position.
Important Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Experience :
Work Environment and Physical Requirements : Position is remote with expectation of attendance at scheduled in-office and community-based meetings. MPHI provides a workstation that includes a laptop computer, two monitors and a docking station. Employee must provide an adequate workspace that is for designated work time and high-speed internet connection. Regular meetings will take place via video conferencing. Occasional in-person meeting attendance required. In-state residency and travel required. This position involves viewing a computer screen 50-100% of the time.
