What are the responsibilities and job description for the Repossession Driver position at Michigan Recovery Services Inc?
Job purpose
Complete Client Repossession order whether repossessing the unit or providing information for Client to
determine if order needs be closed or put on hold while more information is located.
Duties and responsibilities
The following list of primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Promote MRS vision and Mission
- Responsible for working the repossession order and securing unit.
- Have the ability to think through and follow up on tips and leads in order to be as effective as
possible in securing the unit.
- Updating accounts, all addresses listed including POE per Client Compliance when unit has not
been secured.
- Communicating and working with Client Liaison team when unit has not been secured to review
account and see if what more information can be gathered either by the Client Liaison doing quick
skip work or the Liaison reaching out to the Client to see if they have any additional information.
- Remain professional at all times while complying with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Including CFPB, GLB, and FDCPA and the UCC and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act when
either securing unit, speaking with debtor or doing any type of skip tracing.
- Responsible for correct and timely reporting of repossessions, condition report completed and
pictures taken if you are required to do so per Client compliance, (All 4 sides, the 4 corners,
engine, dash, mileage, front and back seats, trunk and full vin number). Ensure storage location
is correct and whether you have possession of keys once unit is secured.
- Client Service orientated at all times.
- Meet and exceed company goals.
Truck responsibilities
- You are responsible for repossession truck.
- Start of each shift ensuring tires and fluids are at correct levels before driving.
- That you do not damage truck.
- You are to schedule oil changes with MRS mechanic every 6,000 miles.
- Inform GM and MRS mechanics of any issues with truck and schedule a time with MRS
mechanics to have problem addressed.
- Check tread wear of tires and inform GM when tread is below 4/32 for front and 2/32 for
rears.
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to be insured by our insurance carrier.
- Physically qualified to drive a commercial vehicle.
- Has current valid chauffeurs license.
- Is not disqualified to drive a commercial vehicle.
- A minimum of 2 years of previous towing/repossession experience.
- Must have or be able be issued a DOT card.
- Prefer CARS certified and must be able to pass CARS certification after 6 months of employment.
Working conditions
This position requires sitting in truck for longer periods of time, standing, walking and repetitive
movements and use of mechanical controls.
Other Work Requirements
Will be required to work evenings and weekends.
Successfully pass pre-employment testing including criminal background check, credit check and drug
testing.
Physical requirements
Heavy lifting may be required at random times.
