We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Teacher to join our team at George Washington Carver Academy, a PreK – 8th grade public charter school in Highland Park. Our mission extends beyond academics.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards
• Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and behavior
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive and supportive learning community
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and parent-teacher conferences
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic progress
• Provide additional support and resources to students who need extra help
• Participate in school-wide events and activities
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Education
• Michigan teaching certification with endorsement in subject area
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of state standards and curriculum requirements
