Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

We are pleased to offer a short-term research opportunity in the School of Packaging. This position is part of an initiative to support the "Feel Good Fridge" program, a Whirlpool Corporation project aimed at improving food security by providing refrigeration in areas with limited cold storage access.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Analysis and Program Impact Assessment: You will evaluate the program's effect on food security in recipient regions, focusing on food distribution patterns, pantry demand, and demographic factors.
• Identifying Priority Pantry Partners: You will analyze the data to identify pantry partners who most need refrigeration support, thereby improving resource allocation within the program.
  
  

The position will provide access to comprehensive data from our food distribution center partners, detailing food distribution methods, storage types, and food sources (donated, purchased, or federally funded). We also have valuable demographic information from pantry clients, including age, household structure, specific food requests, and, in some cases, race/ethnicity and zip code data.

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate with hold an MS in Business Analytics or a related field, or currently enrolled PhD student in the same discipline.

Required Skills And Expertise

• Strong quantitative analysis skills, with a background in food security research, supply chain analytics, or social program impact assessments preferred.
• Proficiency in data management and statistical analysis software such as R, Python, or similar is essential for managing the project's extensive datasets.
