Position Summary
This posting is for anticipated and current vacancies with expected start dates in 2024.
Provides leadership, management, supervision, and development for a residence hall community under the direction of a Community Director. Responsible for student staff supervision and training, student organization advising, individual student development, coordinating community development and residential curriculum efforts, and administrative and departmental responsibilities. This position also has on-call responsibilities. The Residence Director position is a live-in position and is appointed on an annual basis.
All positions in SLE are designated as critical status. In the event of a university closure, modification, or suspension of operations due to snow or other emergency condition, persons in this position are expected to make all reasonable attempts to report to work as scheduled for the duration of the closure/suspension. If a person has an approved remote work agreement to work a portion of their normally scheduled work hours remotely, they may be called upon to work on-site to serve the MSU community.

Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in a human services related field, such as in student personnel, counseling, or a related field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive professional experience as a director in a residence hall or apartment community; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
