Job Description
The Warehouse Electrician/Instrument Technician will be responsible for maintaining and installing electrical and instrumentation systems within the warehouse facility.
Key responsibilities include installing conduit for electrical and instrumentation wiring, ensuring it meets specifications and configuration requirements.
Additionally, the technician will pull wire for electrical or instrument requirements, measure and cut materials as needed, and use hand tools to install devices.
The technician must also be able to troubleshoot electrical circuits, use computers and logic to diagnose issues, and work with the mechanical crew as needed.
Good housekeeping practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are essential.
Required Skills and Qualifications
State of Michigan Journeyman or Master's License
Industrial, mechanical, or maintenance background, preferably in electrical, machining, or welding
Must complete Michigan Sugar Company's Electrical/Instrument Apprenticeship program and obtain approved Electrical Trades Educational Program and Instrumentation Instruction certificates
Ability to program PLCs and VFDs, read electrical and instrumentation prints, and understand ladder logic
Demonstrate knowledge of networking and system boot-up, power grid usage, and safe tool operation
Understand Preventative Maintenance procedures and ability to work with multiple technical equipment simultaneously
Excellent communication skills and trouble-shooting abilities
Experience navigating equipment PLCs to operate machinery
