Michigan Sugar Company has an immediate full-time opportunity for a Project Engineer, located at the Bay City Factory, 2600 S. Euclid Ave., Bay City, MI 48706.
Job Summary :
The Project Engineer is responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines for projects at all factory locations. This includes developing and implementing plans for automation, infrastructure and process related projects spanning one to five years assuring project accuracy and quality.
The Project Engineer works with the engineering department and factory personnel to define project objectives, scope, develop budgets, P&ID's, drawings, specifications and bid packages. Local travel is required to all factories which are located up two hours away to manage assigned projects through to successful completion. The Project Engineer also works with factory personnel to support operations, maintenance and non-capital projects.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor assigned engineering projects.
- Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA / QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
- Review engineering deliverables (budget, schedule, planning) and report regularly on project status.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to provide assistance & technical support.
- Evaluate project equipment, building & infrastructure needs, develop project budgets, schedules and P&ID's.
- Develop structural, mechanical, electrical & instrumentation layouts with internal & external disciplines.
- Create bid packages for equipment purchase & installation.
- Coordinate with support groups for environmental, safety, power and controls services for projects.
- Provide training & start up support to operators, supervisors and maintenance personnel.
- Track order deliveries & installation progress, approve invoices & track project costs.
- Archive drawings, equipment cut sheets, manuals and provide hard copy / online access to factory personnel.
- Project handoff to AMMS / Planner Schedulers for asset management.
