This position will have a primary focus on the implementation and on-going support of our data lakehouse environment. It requires deep knowledge and understanding of data architecture & design, data warehousing, data lakes, Databricks, data governance & security, ETL process development, and excellent communication skills. This role will also involve collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile environment to meet the evolving data needs of judicial services users. Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Support the data lakehouse environment in compliance with industry standards, strategic direction, and platform business requirements.
- Provide technical leadership for the management of the data lakehouse infrastructure and overlaying Databricks based medallion architecture.
- Develop, document, and enforce database models, designs and management, and access controls.
- Provide technical leadership for the development and support of the data lakehouse.
- Provide technical leadership for the development and organization of the databases.
- Provide technical leadership for software installations, upgrades, patches, and configuration changes of relational database management systems.
- Plan and determine impacts for scheduling changes in the operations of the data.
- Responsible for the resolution of escalated support issues surrounding database management, system monitoring, tuning, and optimization to ensure that the database management system is working to meet data performance requirements.
- Serve as an expert in designing and identifying effective use of shell scripting as it relates to database administration and overseeing its implementation.
- Provide management with a long-term perspective on the relationship of database technology to supported systems.
- Ensure data security policies and procedures are always adhered to.
- Ensure the enforcement of database security standards.
- Mentor DBA’s with lesser experience on database security related issues.
- Provide SQL coding expertise including writing functions, procedures, and packages, reviewing, analyzing, and testing code written by others, and for database performance reasons.
- Provide consultations to developers during application design.
- Foster a culture that promotes continuous delivery and automation.
- Make presentations about complex data processing applications to systems users, management, and representatives.
- Lead or participate in task forces, special committees, and research groups to support development of major data processing applications and establishment of Agency standards.
- Lead and/or attend staff meetings, informal and formal training classes, seminars, and conferences.
- Prepare status reports as requested.

EDUCATION
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
EXPERIENCE
- 5 years of experience in data architecture, data warehouse/lake development, and ETL processes
- 5 years of experience with SQL Server, DB2, and Oracle database platforms
- Experience working with data warehouses and ETL tools
- Implementation of data governance, security, and data integrity best practices
- Developing and implementing data warehousing strategies
- Experience with and supporting Databricks based solutions
- Data hosting and support in the Microsoft Azure Cloud environment
- Developing complex technical diagrams
- Scripting languages/tools such as (Python, Powershell, etc.)
- Preferred experience:
o Experience with and desire to work in an Agile/SCRUM team environment

- Travel by automobile within the state may be required on a varying basis
