What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forms and Resources Analyst position at Michigan Supreme Court?
The Field Services division of the State Court Administrative Office (SCAO) is looking for qualified applicants for the position of Forms and Resources Analyst. The Analyst reports to the Records and Forms Manager. The position involves performing research and analysis to develop and design court forms, manuals, web pages, and other media for use in the court system by following defined policies, procedures, or instructions as directed by management. The position requires planning, problem solving, analyzing situations, thinking creatively, and making decisions and includes a wide range of formal writing assignments. The Analyst may manage one or more aspects of ongoing Field Services projects. Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Develop and maintain court forms, manuals, web pages, training, and other written materials regarding policies and procedures, instructional issues, and other topics for trial courts, including the design and layout of all SCAO-approved court forms. Assist with the use and development of reporting forms and other data-collection instruments;

Implement policies and procedures for forms and manuals. Define objectives and create project plans in accordance with organizational goals. Develop and maintain process charts, planning documents, and other tools to assist in project management;
•
Assist in the research, analysis, and development of Management Assistance Project reports that evaluate trial court operations and make recommendations for improvement. May assist in drafting court-related legislation or court rules.

Analyze proposed legislation and court rules to assess their impact on trial courts and determine procedures necessary to implement new requirements. Develop and amend SCAO-approved court forms and other resources to accurately reflect the law;
•
Evaluate, develop, and present responses to inquiries from SCAO personnel, judges, court staff, and others regarding SCAO-approved court forms and resources;
•
Assist in developing and maintaining records retention and disposal schedules and related standards for SCAO and Michigan trial courts. Assist in making internal recommendations for SCAO file management;
•
Participate in and convene special committees or workgroups to develop policies, forms, manuals, and recommended language for modifications to or creation of new court rules.
•
Develop and maintain prescribed portions of the SCAO website.
•
Support the implementation work of councils and commissions created by the Supreme Court.

Salary: $74,061.36 - $96,340.32
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
EXPERIENCE: More than one year of progressively responsible work experience in a court environment, including analysis of court processes and the law.
KNOWLEDGE: This position requires an understanding of court processes and substantive law sufficient to exercise discretion in selecting alternative courses of action; dispute resolution; excellent research, writing, and editing skills; strong interpersonal and communication skills. Successful candidates should have knowledge of forms analysis, design, and publications management, as well as familiarity with desktop publishing software, including InDesign.

WORK LOCATION: Official work-site location is the Hall of Justice in Lansing, Michigan, although travel to other worksites throughout the state may be required. Remote work may be available in accordance with the MSC/SCAO Remote Work Policy. Employees must reside in Michigan by their hiring date.
