What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Foreperson 1st Shift position at Michigan Turkey Producers?
Essential Functions of Role:
Following the organizational mission, this role performs “hands-on” Logistics department tasks; Organize and assign daily load activities; Build Truck Loads according to the “Daily Load Schedule”; Communicate with Traffic, Sales, Scheduling, and Operations for individual customer requirements; Prepare Export loads for approval according to USDA inspection requirements; Maintain communication with common carriers for efficient and on-time loading; Help coordinate weekly short haul deliveries with MTP associate drivers; Receive inbound loads in accordance with Quality Control guidelines and policies; Follow departmental HACCP procedures and regulations; Back-up the Logistics Manager and departmental needs; Flexible hours based on work load; Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the department Manager.
Qualifications:
Preferred Associates degree or equivalent education.; Minimum 5 years experience in shipping, receiving, and warehousing; Must have Industrial Truck equipment experience including, but not limited to Lift Truck, Powered Hand Jack, and Reach Truck; Detail Oriented; Able to work well under pressure and in a fast paced environment; Excellent communication skills; Must be responsible and self-motivated; Computer skills, utilizing various Microsoft programs; including Microsoft Office and Excel; Must be able to communicate, speak, read, and write fluently in the English language.
