Job Summary
The Beverage Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels of all beverage products, ensuring efficient operations, and supporting bar staff during peak hours. This role combines hands-on support during high-traffic periods with meticulous inventory management and organization tasks during off-peak times.
Duties
- Barback Support (Friday and Saturday Nights): Assist bartenders by restocking supplies, monitoring inventory levels in real-time, and ensuring seamless service during peak hours.
- Inventory Receiving and Organization (Wednesday Mornings): Oversee the receipt of liquor and beer orders, verify accuracy against purchase orders, and organize products systematically in storage areas, including the keg room.
- Keg Room Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the keg room, ensuring all kegs are properly labeled, stored, and rotated to guarantee product freshness and compliance with safety standards.
- Inventory Counts: Conduct weekly inventory counts of beer and monthly comprehensive liquor and beer inventories using the Craftable platform, ensuring data accuracy and timely reporting.
- Data Management: Accurately input inventory data into the Craftable system, generate reports, and collaborate with management to address discrepancies or identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all beverage storage and handling practices comply with health and safety regulations, including proper labeling, storage temperatures, and cleanliness standards.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in barbacking, inventory management, or a related role in the hospitality industry.
- Familiarity with inventory management software; experience with Craftable is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including late nights on weekends and early mornings on weekdays.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Physical ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods.
This position requires a mix of late-night shifts during weekends and early morning shifts during weekdays. The specialist will work in various environments, including bar areas, storage rooms, and refrigerated spaces. Adherence to safety protocols is essential to prevent injuries and ensure a safe working environment. Heavy lifting is crucial, as a standard full-size keg weighs approximately 160 pounds.
This is a dual-role position with two compensation structures:
- Inventory Management Tasks: Compensated at a rate of $20 per hour.
- Barback Shifts: Compensated at the standard barback wage plus tips, in accordance with the establishment's tipping policies.
