The Production Planner will be responsible coordinating and optimizing our production schedules, ordering all individual components and tracking delivery, ensuring timely delivery of products, and managing inventory levels for Micro Center brand products. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand and inventory targets.
- Forecast items to meet build schedule on a timely basis.
- Maintain a material supply that is available to meet the system level forecast for up to 6 weeks of forecasted production with all vendors.
- Manage and create all individual component part numbers for all build components and finished goods.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers globally to ensure timely delivery of parts and products.
- Issue purchase orders to vendors and keep lead times and shipment statuses updated for both international and domestic vendors to ensure a steady 6-week manufacturing pipeline.
- Monitor inventory levels and adjust production plans as necessary to avoid stockouts or overstock situations.
- Direct the manufacturers and distribution center on all inventory transfers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including buyers, purchasing/logistics specialists, finance & accounting, and sales, to align production plans with business objectives.
- Interface with IPO office on any international activities, including purchasing, parts shipments, RMA’s, etc.
- Perform cycle counts semiannually at all integration sites and manage inventory process for build locations with Micro Electronics corporate.
- Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
- Manage and resolve any production-related issues or delays, ensuring minimal impact on operations.
- Prepare regular reports on production status, inventory levels, and supplier performance.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve production planning processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience or at minimum a strong interest in retail production planning, or previous purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, especially in the consumer electronics industry, is highly preferred.
- Understanding of international supply chain and logistics processes is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with MS Office programs with an emphasis in Excel. Experience with Pivot tables a plus.
- Experience with ERP, MicroStrategy, and production planning software and tools a plus.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly motivated and team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
