Job Summary:
This position works in our Metal Shop and is responsible for product quality verification. This includes development of control plans and methods for incoming sheet metal, machined parts and fixtures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform first article inspections, in process and final inspections of machined and sheet metal parts; both visual and mechanical.
- Verify and approve parts returned are properly completed.
- Identify quality process, product, and production issues during shift.
- Collaborate with design engineers and technicians in the development of verification/validation protocols.
- Assist with the development of inspection processes and equipment if and when required.
- Ensure inspection equipment is calibrated and repaired as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years minimum of relevant experience in machining and/or sheet metal industry.
- Must be able to read and comprehend blueprints and standards.
- Must have a broad knowledge of inspection equipment including how to set up and calibrate the equipment.
- Understanding of geometric tolerance and methods of verification.
- Good statistical and numerical ability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Related technical Associates degree.

- May be required to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 60 pounds, 0 - 33% of time.
- May be exposed to high noise levels for short amounts of time when working near manufacturing equipment. Noise levels range between 70-100 decibels. Protective footwear, ear plugs, and safety rated glasses are required.
