Senior IT Systems Engineer
The Senior IT Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex IT infrastructure systems to support enterprise operations. They must manage various technologies and work with different teams to ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of systems that are critical to the organization's goals.
Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum 8 years of IT experience with operating systems, virtualization, cybersecurity controls, disaster recovery, and hypervisors.
MDS, a leading technology company, is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and optimizing virtualization platforms to ensure scalability and high availability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that meet the business needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux Red Hat operating systems
- Troubleshoot system issues and provide timely resolutions
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability
- Implement security measures to protect systems from cyber threats
- Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery plans
- Collaborate with other teams to optimize system functionality
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and technologies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Systems Engineer in a similar industry (utility, industrial, oil/gas)
- Strong knowledge of Linux Red Hat operating systems
- Experience with patching and security protocols
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Familiarity with network configurations
- Certifications such as RHCE are preferred but not required
