Shift- 6am-4pm
5-10 years experience, mills / lathes, $25-$30hr, 55lbs lifting
Mechanical aptitude and basic mathematical skills (including decimal / fraction conversions); Read / Use tape measure (metric and standard), level, and square, Use basic hand tools and specialty measurement tools (calipers, inside / outside micrometers, indicators, calculator); ID steel types (carbon vs stainless); Work under supervision to lay out basic hole patterns, drill and tap holes and chase threads and other basic milling / drilling operations; Drill bit sharpening; Operation of industrial fork truck (w / boom attachments and associated magnets, clamps, slings and chains), hand truck, pallet jack and overhead hoists and cranes; 5S housekeeping to clean and maintain equipment and shop areas.
Read and interpret blueprints, specifications and bills of material with a strong working knowledge of Geometry, Dimension and Tolerances (GD&T) to machine to / - 0.000 tolerances; Operation of manual mills, lathes (including 3 and 4 jaw chucks and steady rests), do-all / angle saws, and hydraulic press; Work under limited supervision to set-up and machine complete small to medium parts including : chamfers, keys, keyways, pilot holes, grease inserts, spools, seal holders, bottom valves, rings, dish heads, and low speed shafts; Machine surfaces to required finishes with rust prevention and protection. Complete all job documentation (travelers, time sheets, inspection forms); CNC equipment basic operation.
Work independently to set-up and machine complete HS Shafts, Bar turbine shafts, Ribbon and Sigma blade shafts and Tapered shafts; Ability to make specialty tooling; Ability to edit CNC (G-code) and machine set-up; Peer inspection; Ability to train others.
