JOB SUMMARY
We are currently seeking a seasonal IT Support Technician (Intern). Under the general direction of the Manager of IT Infrastructure, the IT Support Technician will work to resolve PC issues, configure computer systems and use remote desktop connections in providing IT project support. You will use email, phone and chat applications to resolve customers' IT issues and utilize Help Desk software to log, categorize, prioritize and if necessary, escalate Help Desk tickets.
This internship is remote, with an expected commitment of approximately 10-20 hours per week. Please note that this is an unpaid position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide Tier I support to customers
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems
- Diagnose hardware/software faults and solve technical problems related to assigned project work. Research and propose computer hardware and software upgrades
- Create and maintain technical and self-help documentation
- Provide technical training to end-users
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 0-2 years of relevant work experience
- High school diploma/GED required
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Has professional understanding of PC hardware, software and networking, including Microsoft operating systems
- Ability to provide an excellent End User - Customer experience
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Taking effective notes while training
- Basic proficiency using MS Office suite

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis, sit and use a computer for a long period of time.
- Adequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Home internet acceptable for remote computer work.
