What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Engineer Intern position at Microbiologics Inc?
We are currently looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to our team in St. Cloud, MN. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in identifying and completing process improvement projects and key initiatives at the plant level using Lean Practices, Six Sigma tools and Project Management. You will also assist in identifying process improvement opportunities for the automated equipment to support manufacturing.
Some key duties in this role include:
- Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation.
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects aligned to lean manufacturing principles.
- Work closely with operations’ teams to perform problem solving and root cause analysis.
- Actively analyze and recommend ways to improve equipment and processes to impact overall quality, productivity, capacity, lead times and cost.
- Participate in productivity improvement studies such as cycle time reduction and increasing throughput and implementation in related to effective and efficient use of assets and production processes. May provide cost analysis and return on investment calculations associated with project selection.
- Keeping projects within budget and timelines to meet company specifications.
- Attend Granite Partners Internship Bridge meetings.
- Create and present capstone project.

Here is what we are looking for:
- Must be a student at an accredited College or University with a minimum of 60 credit hours.
- Majoring in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field in an accredited U.S. College.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office
- 18 years of age, or older
- In good academic standing (2.50 GPA)
- The ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
