What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembler position at Micron Products Inc & Subsidiaries?
I. JOB PURPOSE
Under close supervision performs a variety of manual and automated assembly and/or packaging. Assembles items at a pace consistent with the speed of the assembly line.
May also be responsible for final inspection and packaging of completed assemblies to ensure compliance with all quality standards.
II. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Follows detailed Work Instructions to perform a variety of repetitive operations to assemble precision subassemblies and finished assemblies.
- Use a computer to sign in to work orders, input daily information and print labels
- Verify printed label content is accurate to the product running
- Complete in-process documentation and records according to cGDP (shop orders, process log, MRB, etc.)
- Assembles component parts, sub-assemblies or completed units. Includes electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical, structural products, instrument, and plastic parts assembly.
- Assembles components at a pace consistent with the speed of the assembly line, occasionally performing two or more assembly operations simultaneously.
- Fits, aligns, and adjusts parts into mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements, using various common hand tools and automated assembly tools such as drill press, ultra-sonic welders, heat and punch presses.
- Performs visual and dimensional inspection of parts to ensure conformance to specifications including go/no-go gage vision system
- May be required to work with quality plans.
- Monitors automation system for outputs (yield & utilization) and general performance.
- May assist in the set-up of an assigned assembly station.
- May occasionally service automated system(s) for component replenishment and audible alarms.
- May prepare boxes, pack, seal, and label product(s).
- Learns machine cleaning as required.
- Learn and understand our Quality Policy, Statement and Objectives and maintain a basic understanding of quality management systems related to ISO 13485
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including training and proper use of PPE
- Maintain effective housekeeping in all areas assigned Recommend improvements to safety, housekeeping, product, or process improvements
III. JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in manufacturing assembly preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend written work instructions
- Ability to understand verbal instructions
- Basic computer skills to input daily information
- Must have the ability to communicate with different different levels of employees and management
- Excellent attention to detail
