Our Opportunity Summary
As the Energy Markets Procurement Manager for Global Energy Procurement, you will be responsible for driving the energy category and supplier relationships for assigned energy procurement projects and regions! You will engage externally with consultants and 3rd party service providers. Internally, you will partner with Global Sustainability and Site Facilities teams to settle scope, schedule and budget and supervise project status throughout the duration of the project. You will work with Micron Legal to determine the contract strategy needed to support each project, and then drive compliance to that contract. Your primary goal is to deliver the greatest value of each contract, which require strong sourcing (negotiating), contracting, supplier management, and overall project management skills!
In this role, you are encouraged to collaborate with Regional Supplier Managers across multiple regions, in an indirect leadership role. You will participate in and lead the development and implementation of supplier strategies to optimize cost, supply, and quality. Additional responsibilities include negotiating terms, conditions and pricing to leverage spend, leading and participating in department projects, serving as a primary contact for industry and supplier information, and acting as a mentor for other members within the Procurement organization.

Manage Relationships Globally
- Act as primary point of contact within Procurement for assigned energy and sustainability projects, programs and suppliers
- Maintain collaborative relationships with supplier(s) while optimally resolving supplier performance/capability issues to ensure alignment with Micron’s strategic direction
- Communicate key management updates and decisions to multiple levels in the organization including Executive Leadership
- Lead or participate in negotiations for contract
- Lead and/or lead team on sourcing events/RFQ process
- Develop a contract strategy for each project, including to initiate negotiate, build and implement contracted terms and conditions
- Lead or assist in the analysis of energy industry trends, market policy and regulations to proactively identify opportunities to reduce cost, minimize risk, and energy procurement goals
- Apply should-cost models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplace
- Serve as the subject matter expert for energy category, and share knowledge with key customers and internal teams to enable more effective planning, forecasting and execution
- Builds and publishes regular reports on assigned portfolio
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required; Master's Degree preferred
- Previous experience in Energy Procurement, Energy Development, Energy Trading, or Power Markets.
- Prioritize multiple large-scale projects concurrently, ability to work with minimal direction; strong project management skills
- Renewable energy development experience preferred
- Knowledge of energy financial constructs including VPPAs, PPAs, and gas procurement
- Good knowledge of US wholesale energy markets, energy generation. Legal, regulatory, pricing and billing structure of energy contracts.
- Strong modeling and data analysis skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Proficient in MS office
- Comfort around Senior Leaders and Executives, ability to build and deliver executive-level presentations
