As part of the high performance memory module architecture team, you will be driving new memory solutions in collaboration with DRAM architects, Business unit product architects and hardware designers, to enable our customers datacenter and AI applications.
A memory system architect is a highly technical role responsible for designing and optimizing the memory subsystem for high speed and performance, power efficiency, BW efficiency as well as power distribution and signal integrity, by analyzing tradeoffs, developing new strategies, selecting appropriate active and passive devices, and through collaboration and feedback to active component design teams, HW design teams to ensure efficient power usage while meeting performance targets across different workloads. You will study and innovate on new paradigms for memory access through IO and interconnect innovation as well as efficient use of shoreline, area efficiency for memory capacity, ideas for optimal energy efficiency.
We are seeking a highly motivated engineer who brings innovative ideas to developing the memory system architecture for Micron’s memory solutions with a focus on end-to-end analysis and solutions, using robust analysis techniques for both active devices and passive interconnects. Our team will be driving sophisticated exploration for next generation for memory sub-systems. Strong analytical skills and close collaboration are critical traits of our team members, which enable the best overall solution to our customers.

Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with DRAM memory architects, product architects, as well as verification and validation teams, to productize new features and architectures to differentiate Micron memory in customer applications.
- Drive memory and system architectures for optimizing the power, bandwidth and capacity for Data center and AI application.
- Review and analyze memory technology roadmaps, including DDR DIMMs, LPDDR, HBM, and emerging memory technologies.
- Work with vendors to evaluate intellectual property (IP) and make recommendations for integration.
- Develop performance models to analyze memory system behavior under different workloads and identify bottlenecks in collaboration with power and performance modeling teams.
- Conduct simulations to evaluate design decisions and optimize performance across different scenarios.
- MS/Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 10 years of experience in computer architecture, SoC and system hardware architecture and design
- 10 years of experience with memory controller design and various sub-blocks and memory hierarchy
- 10 years of experience with timing specs. Latency and power and bandwidth specs for various memory technologies, including DDR (RDIMM/MRDIMM), GDDR, LPDDR, HBM, and emerging memory technologies
- 5 years of experience in Electrical and functional analysis with Verilog.
- 5 Years of experience with JEDEC memory standards.
- 5 Years of experience with ECC, RAS features.
- 5 years or experience with power management techniques and low power design principles; and programming skills in C/C and python etc.
- Attention to quality, ability to clearly articulate and a continuous improvement approach are expected traits
- Ideal candidate will be dedicated, collaborative and has strong mentoring capability and willingness
