The Project Manager will also ensure that the resources needed for a successful project are available and coordinated into the project team! In addition, the Project Manager’s responsibility is to employ all vital project controls to meet the project objectives and ensure team safety. The Facilities Construction Project Manager at Micron Technology is responsible for leading all aspects of an assigned project to include clarifying and detailing the scope, schedule, and budget! The Project Manager will also ensure that the resources needed for a successful project are available and coordinated into the project team! In addition, the Project Manager’s responsibility is to employ all vital project controls to meet the project objectives and ensure team safety. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensures that the team plans all required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron safety policies
- Stops work for safety if unsafe conditions and/or behaviors are identified
- Ensures project team members use job hazard analysis (JHA/JSA) for work being performed
- Collaborates with internal Micron partners, such as Safety, Environmental, and Legal to ensure all regulatory requirements for the projects are being met
- Ensures the project team follows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws including PPE, CoHE (lockout/tagout) and chemical safety
- Follows-up on safety and quality related issues immediately and works towards resolution with partners
- Actively participates in the EHS program by reporting all EHS-related concerns or problems immediately (maximum 24 hours)
- Performs and facilitates audits and submits good catches
- Always wears appropriate PPE, per JHA, Supervisor, EHS professionals, and/or job designation
- Proactively finds opportunities to reduce potential hazards which may impact personnel health and/or the environment
- Uses accurate lifting techniques and works in an ergonomically accurate manner
- Follows accurate organizational change practices to ensure safety & quality expectations are met
- Ensures specifications, standard and checklists are aligned with corporate guidelines
- Leads lessons learned type activities per area of expertise
- Supports engineering coordinators with facilitating design reviews to ensure project design meets manufacturer’s and company guidelines for safety & quality expectations
- Ensures a robust Safety program is in place and maintained throughout the project
- Partners with key team members to develop solutions to continuously improve critical metrics
- Coordinates with partners and leaders on issues and changes, and provides regular status updates
- Performs project cost estimates, forecasts, project cash flows and capital budget acquisition
- Controls and monitors budget and project spending against the approved funds
- Controls scope during the design and construction phases to maintain cost and schedule control
- Prepares and maintains monthly cash flow projections
- Ensures requirements of ECBP are followed
- Uses a systematic project management methodology to develop, prioritize and lead projects
- Partners with collaborators to secure timely funding, develop overall project strategy and critical path schedule
- Handles projects to ensure results are completed within the required scope, schedule and budget
- Supervises actions and provides critical issue path or resources to ensure actions will be completed on time
- Defines and leads sophisticated, multi-disciplinary projects of critical importance to Micron
- Ensures regular communication to team members of project status, roadblocks, and path to success
- Clarifies and documents project scope and ensures vital guidance from appropriate collaborators
- Ensures that scope meets requestor needs
- Collaborates with consultant resources
- Coordinates and leads meetings and initiates follow-up actions
- Follows organizational change procedures
- Works with appropriate personnel to address problems or make corrections
- Supports of develops RFQs for construction activities and leads vendor selection
- Handles vendor contract during execution of projects
- Runs the project programming & development activities
- Collaborates with Procurement and Global Facilities to run competitive bidding processes aligned to selected project strategy
- Identifies, obtains and adjusts project resources as needed
- Develops detailed resource loaded project schedules & supervises performance
- Leads project financials and supervises performance to budget and work in place
- Handles project roadblocks that arise such as routing, timing, or labor issues
- Analyzes systems data to make critical decisions, improve performance, gain efficiency, and drive cost savings
- Provides effective and timely guidance to resolve issues and is highly engaged in key problem resolution
- Provides solving support for sophisticated problems and addresses root cause
- Performs problem analysis using standard tools and methodologies
- Supports risk and/or failure mode and effects analysis
- Partners with key team members to identify gaps and opportunities for efficiencies
- Maintains applicable subject area knowledge
- Supports a culture of TPM
- Is responsible for the project programming and development activities
- Relevant degree or appropriate certification/licensing; Engineering, Construction Management or Project Management
- 5 years of experience as a primary project manager for highly technical construction projects
- Certification in Business Process Management such as the PMP.
