Position Overview
As a Staff Engineer, SSD Validation at Micron Technology, Inc., located in Longmont, CO, you will provide domain expertise on NVMe and PCIe protocols as applied by Enterprise NVMe SSDs. You will own assigned test pools from test request through results analysis and reporting, demonstrating a customer-focused demeanor to deliver consistent and detailed test data and analysis. You will perform triage on test failures, collaborate across functions to innovate new solutions, and mentor junior engineers.

$137,000.00 - $233,000.00

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Provide domain expertise on NVMe and PCIe protocols as applied by Enterprise NVMe SSDs.
- Own assigned test pool from test request through results analysis and reporting.
- Perform first and second-level triage on test failures to aid in root cause analysis.
- Collaborate across functions to innovate new solutions to execution, triage/analysis, and reporting of test data.
- Work to provide continued automation of test execution, triage, and reporting tasks throughout validation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or 7 additional years of related work experience without a degree.
- 10 years of experience in an electronics test environment, preferably storage.
- 7 years of demonstrated expertise with PCIe and NVMe protocols in a Semiconductor company.
- Proven experience with test triage and root cause of complex issues.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate changes to required test cycle start/end times.
- 3 years experience with 3rd party test suites and platforms such as ULINK, UNH-IOL, PCI-SIG compliance, SanBlaze, etc.
- Experience as a team lead, including successful training/mentorship of others in a Semiconductor company (preferably 2 years).
- Ability to mentor junior engineers on all matters execution, triage, and reporting.
- Must be available to work on-site at the Longmont lab full-time.
- Effective oral and written communication skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
