As a Supply Chain Planner at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for orchestrating the supply chain to common objectives for the products assigned to you. Much of your time will be spent proactively managing supply fill rate (to demand and inventory) on your products through various analytics of our ERP tool and advanced planning systems. Based on your own findings or un-planned events, you will also be required to collaborate with internal and external partners across the globe and lead the value chain to the objectives required on your product line.
You must have proficient skills related to data analysis and developing conclusions to complex problems. This will make you successful on the planning responsibilities. You must also have strong communication skills and leadership abilities as these will make you successful in resolving many of the problems you find to meet the defined objectives.
You will utilize and create Tableau reports, and deep-dive into our Supply Plan Optimization (SPO) tool to troubleshoot supply/demand mismatches. Additionally, you will deploy Science of Supply Chain techniques to ensure the right balance of inventory, customer service, and business priorities is met considering the dynamic conditions of the semiconductor business.
You will also be expected to develop an understanding of the value chain you plan for and other related processes. Examples of these areas are demand management, S&OP, silicon planning, inventory management, factory loading, manufacturing sites, logistics, fulfillment, and customer requirements. The knowledge you develop here will assist you in solving many problems and will enable your career progression.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1) Publish supply response to support customer demand, sales orders, factory plan, material plan, die mix plan, and inventory replenishment strategy
- Utilize your knowledge of linear optimization of supply planning engines to recommend adjustments to priorities and objective functions, and deep-dive into solve results to guide company’s manufacturing planning and execution
2) Position Supply/Inventory to predictably meet revenue plans
- Communicate risks and opportunities of supply to revenue planning teams
- Understand demand/revenue risks and explore mitigation scenarios
- Provide qualitative inputs to demand management to optimize supply/demand balancing within constraints
- Utilize your knowledge of Tableau to develop and use reports which clarify in data supply/demand mismatches and associated actions to partners internal and external to Supply Chain
3) Manage inventory to targets at specific locations
- Leverage your Science of Supply Chain knowledge for recommended adjustments to postponement locations, inventory buffers, and build strategies to navigate dynamic market conditions
- Manage silicon wafer/die inventory health
- Provide qualitative inputs to replenishment strategies to achieve required delivery performance
- Provide qualitative inputs to Silicon Planning on mix changes
4) Leverage global team to have continuous attention to urgent action items
- Ensure Communication and knowledge transfer with Manufacturing, Sales, Engineering, Global Quality, and Marketing
- Drive accountability for established R&Rs across partner organizations
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in industrial engineering/Operations Management/Supply Chain/Operations Research/Business Administration or equivalent experience
- Supply Chain fundamentals – Safety stock models, forecasting models, Optimizing logistics network, Linear programming, Theory of Constraints
- Experience with Database query (SQL), data analysis and visualization tools, including Macros in Excel, Tableau, and Python programming.
- Statistical concepts/ methods à Six Sigma, Theory of constraints and Inventory Models
- Designing experiments to solve complex problems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Supply Chain systems preferred – SAP/Blue Yonder
