Position Summary
The Product Development Engineer is responsible for supporting current development projects, and implementation of new products / processes and will be working closely with and reporting to the Head of Engineering. However, Micropore's engineering team is lean, flexible and nimble, and so the Product Development Engineer should expect also to collaborate and contribute on process engineering and quality engineering projects as well.
Areas of Responsibility
- Product development using 3D CAD product design software
- Establish and realize new product objectives
- Complete tolerance stack-up analysis
- Design and execute DoE for process development and validation
- Define manufacturing techniques, equipment, and process integration
- Complete design failure modes and effects analysis, and other product performance analysis
- Apply basic knowledge of materials, standards, and testing possibilities
- Provide and maintain process definitions and work instructions and maintain documentation in QMS
- Utilize a basic knowledge of good documentation practices (GDP)
- Comply with all company safety procedures
- Apply basic knowledge of injection molding
- Parts specification definition and sourcing / supply chain management / compliance assistance
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head of Engineering
Capabilities and Skills
Requirements
Citizen or permanent resident (green card) of the United States
Minimum 3-5 years experience supporting industrial processes
Experience with polymer processing, including extrusion
Pro E / Creo preferred
