POSITION PURPOSE:
Under the direction of the Materials Supervisor, the Materials Handler-Packer is responsible for the receipt of all goods and merchandise, the warehousing and inventory of all raw material, and preparing parts for shipments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Receive all raw material, UPS and FedEx packages
- Verification of material received against purchase orders
- Inspect raw material and issue RIR tags; request inspection if required
- Move material using fork truck and / or combi lift / manual carts to appropriate areas
- Assist in maintaining inventory control
- Operate saw
- Responsible for move tickets of raw material
- Manually wash manufactured parts by lifting parts placed in a basket, dipping in solvent and rinsing, blowing off excess with the use of an air hose and by using degreaser and spinner
- Pack parts for shipment as assigned
- Move material using fork truck to appropriate area
- Work with Quality Assurance on priority parts for daily inspection
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Daily entering and posting of all raw material
- Daily accurate account of raw material inventory
- Report non-conforming raw material to Receiving Manager and follow through with MRB instructions
- Responsible for supplying material to work centers as needed
- Receive customer supplied parts, issue inspection and RIR tags
- Understand routing sheets for parts that require outside operation such as plating, grinding or heat treating
- Package small products or parts in standard containers in shipping area
- Form, staple or tape seal boxes
- May be required to select, assemble and check orders
- Stencil or attach shipping and handling instructions
- Verifies all work procedures are checked
- Tumble parts, per routing, by selecting the correct tumbling materials and placing the correct amount in a machine
- Work with Quality Assurance department to match parts, verify part numbers and distribute parts to next process such as an outside process or finished good
- Inspect Humphrey parts for metal chips and debris and clear using air hose
- Must be quality conscious and continuously look for improvements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. safely
REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
- 2 years warehouse experience
- Forklift experience and certification preferred
- Possess general knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Demonstrates the ability to read, write, speak and hear, interpret documents and instructions in written, oral, blueprint, diagram and schedule form in English

- Exhibit strong attention to detail; problem solving, time management and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of data entry and computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite and ERP applications

- Regularly required to sit, stand, stoop, crouch and kneel
- Required to use hands to handle, touch and feel tools, equipment and controls
- Vision ability (corrective or non) to include close range, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to understand and comply with all company, safety and quality policies and procedures and advocate ISO system standards
