KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure individual accountability to revenue and margin targets.
- Improving accounts receivables and inventory by aligning processes with best practices & and increasing accountability.
- Achieve financial targets for the assigned customers and market.
- Responsible for supporting the sales department while processing orders, preparing correspondence, and fulfilling customer needs to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Communicates lead times and all relative information to customers by telephone or e-mail and coordinates with other departments on executing purchase orders, delivery information, and technical service.
- Collaborates with other stakeholders to assist in evaluating and recommending policies and procedures related to order processing and customer complaints.
- Handles customer complaints and assists customers with questions about the company’s billing statements, products, or other concerns.
INITIATIVES/PROJECTS/METRICS:
- Forecasting and managing customer forecasts and pricing.
- Support the assigned outside sales team to achieve $XX M in new orders per year. This performance indicator will be measured periodically through Opportunities and Projects –
- Support the assigned outside sales team in the application of proper discounting methods and supplier price negotiation.
- Qualify Sales Leads from websites, industry databases, or other sources. and enter new opportunities in the business system.
- Making the initial customer contact within 24 hours of lead age. Follow up to convert or unqualify leads within 2 days.
- Complete customer quotes assigned by Outside Sales 24 hours before the due date for review with the Outside Sales Representative
- Follow up every quote created with customer phone calls and log an unplanned activity with relevant comments, unless advised by Outside sales to an exception. Conduct initial follow-up within 48 hours from the quote due date and recurring follow-up phone calls within 5 business days
- Builds influential customer relationships and provides excellent service by responding quickly and accurately to customer and field sales inquiries.
- Collects new data and maintains comprehensive historical data; analyzes all data and communicates relative information and recommendations to management that could impact future planning.
- Support customer projects/initiatives by working with cross-functional teams to project completion and customer satisfaction.
- Manages CRM for Leads and Opportunities for an assigned customer base.
- Provide feedback and contribute to developing sales/customer service processes and best practices.
- Assists in resolving credit matters. Verifies proper approval of customer credits and debits to ensure timely processing. Works with Finance to research and resolve misapplied payments.
- Participates in a team approach to selling to key accounts in which all personnel work as a cohesive group dedicated to increasing sales through customer satisfaction.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
- Increase productivity through improving sales skill sets, tools, and processes.
- Gain knowledge and understanding of the complete company product line.
- Provide on-the-job training for new employees.
- Recommends and implements process improvements to increase productivity and/or eliminate waste.
- Attend customer events such as site visits.
- Promote healthy cross-functional communication between all internal associated stakeholders (territory team members) to ensure excellent customer experience.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Three to five years of customer service experience in sales within a manufacturing environment preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Associate degree in a technical field, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP/CRM systems
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on quality and detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
- Self-motivated with a proven ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Must have the authorization to work in the United States of America and have lawful access to controlled technology as required for this position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Regularly works in an office setting
- Frequently required to stand; and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Must be able to work in front of a computer and use a telephone for a large portion of the day.
COMPENSATION RANGE
- This position is eligible to participate in the local annual bonus plan.
