The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in consumer product design at scale, a deep understanding of customers, and openness and curiosity about the future of the web AI. For this role, we’re looking for a leader with both strong design skills and strategic thinking; you should have superb visual and interaction design skills and be comfortable with ambiguity involved in inventing totally new experiences. You will influence teams with concepts, prototypes, and evangelize new customer experiences to create beautiful, inclusive, and accessible experiences that customers love.While our preferred location for this position is Redmond, WA, we are open to candidates based anywhere in the United States.ResponsibilitiesDrive product experience strategy, interaction design, creative direction, and craftsmanship for a v1 product.Drive cross-team collaborations among all disciplines from early product stages to implementation.Understand the behaviors, motivations, and needs of our customers to develop relevant and impactful experiences.Contribute to strategic product planning via experience roadmaps.Propose creative solutions to complex user experience journeys, drawing on your ability to map end-to-end experiences.Identify new opportunities and generate innovative ideas to improve our processes, products, and culture, influencing design direction and research methodologies.Set, drive, and execute design’s direction for a product or set of products, influencing partners and stakeholders based on priorities that balance the customer needs and business impact.Lead design on highly visible products or set of design initiatives with notable risk and complexity.Drive cross-organization experience to impact broader organizational scale or enable the team to scale.QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 8 years experience working in product or service design.OR Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 6 years experience working in product or service design.OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).Preferred Qualifications8 years experience working in product or service design.Demonstrated sense of interaction design attuned to the fundamentals of user experience, including accessibility and inclusive design.Extensive experience delivering high craft and strong Visual Design and Interaction Design skills.Excellent communication and presentation / storytelling skills, with the ability to energize teams and advocate for your ideas.Experience designing in Figma and other prototyping tools.Demonstrated experience or curiosity with AI.Able to work well in ambiguous and ever-changing environments.Resume must include a link to design portfolio and password if applicable.Product Design IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
