  1. Educational requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Previous custodial experience preferred.
  2. Reports to: Building and Grounds Lead
  3. Primary job responsibility: Responsible for creating and maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work environment by performing a wide variety of cleaning and maintenance activities primarily inside the facility.
  4. Essential functions of position:
  5. Respond to service requests quickly and in a professional manner;
  6. Perform routine cleaning tasks on a recurring schedule, to include:
    1. Dust and sanitize surfaces in offices;
    2. Dust and sanitize surfaces in public areas;
    3. Sweep and mop floors;
    4. Vacuum and steam clean carpeted areas;
    5. Empty and clean trash receptacles;
    6. Collect and consolidate recyclables;
    7. Clean, sanitize, and stock bathrooms; and
    8. Clean, sanitize, and stock cafeteria.
  7. Operate, maintain , and store custodial equipment;
  8. Maintain inventory of cleaning solvents and supplies;
  9. Weekly trip to recycling center with Microspec recycling;
  10. Track and report employee smock inventory weekly;
  11. Report any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to the appropriate department;
  12. Maintain accurate records of assigned tasks;
  13. Various pick-up and delivery assignments as needed; and
  14. Other tasks as requested.
  15. Qualifications:
    1. Ability to convey information and issues clearly.
    2. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
    3. Ability to work flexible hours.
    4. Ability to use Microsoft word and excel for record keeping and work tracking.
    5. Ability to squat, twist, bend, and kneel while using tools and performing tasks.
    6. Possess working knowledge of the methods, techniques, and materials used in custodial work.
    7. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    8. Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
    9. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    10. Ability to meet deadlines.
    11. Highly service-oriented with a positive can-do attitude.
    12. Ability to work with hand tools.
    13. Maintain a professional and courteous manner with all guests, vendors, contractors, and employees.
