What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior IT Systems Engineer position at Micross Logo?
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Primarily responsible for the architecture and maintenance of the Micross hardware and software infrastructure / tech stack, including 200 virtual servers (VMWare and Hyper-V) and Enterprise Backups.
- Work with and mentor our tight-knit IT team to support all-levels of problems ranging from server configuration and network issues to desktop/laptop end user support
- Ensure a strong security posture for the company & mitigate company risk through the use server architecture, account settings, system back up, redundant equipment, etc.
- Work with internal and external resources to maintain a compliance program which continuously monitors and tests cybersecurity controls & related policies
- Assist with the management of the physical security of all locations
- Use project management methodology to ensure project success
- Create scope, timelines, budget, action item lists, etc. required to manage projects to successful completion on time and on budget while meeting the business need.
- Work as a change agent within the company.
- Provide training on new systems.
- Educate users on features and functions of devices that will increase productivity
- Empower the work force by providing reliable tools
- When necessary assist in the management & selection of vendors and consultants.
REQUIRED:
- At minimum 10 years working as a Systems Engineer/Network Administrator (or similar position)
- In-depth knowledge of the following hardware and software;
- Windows Server Operating System & related ecosystem (AD, DNS, GPO)
- Experience with VMWare & Hyper-V virtualization platforms
- Experience with enterprise backup solutions (NetBackup, Veeam or Zerto)
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange/Office 365
- Experience with various SAN solutions
- Experience supporting executive leadership
- US Citizen
PREFERRED:
- Experience in a fast-paced Manufacturing environment
- Experience in the Aerospace, Defense, or Semiconductor industries
- Experience in Cybersecurity and/or related certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH)
- Some experience with enterprise firewalls (Fortinet preferred)
- Some experience with Aruba/HPE or Cisco switching & related concepts
- Some experience with identity management platforms (Okta, Duo)
- Some experience with Hosted VOIP solutions
- Some experience supporting remote workforce and satellite locations
LOCATIONS:
- On-site at our one of the following facilities:
- Apopka, FL (Orlando metro)
- Melville, NY (Long Island)
- Ability to travel (roughly 25%)
