Position Summary
The Maintenance Lead will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations within the facility, ensuring that equipment is operating at peak efficiency. This role involves coordinating the maintenance team, scheduling preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and leading efforts to improve overall equipment effectiveness. The Maintenance Lead will play a critical role in minimizing downtime and ensuring the reliability of all production equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Supervision:
- Lead and supervise the maintenance team, providing direction, training, and support.
- Assign tasks and monitor the progress of maintenance activities to ensure timely completion.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.
Preventative & Predictive Maintenance:- Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all equipment.
- Schedule and oversee routine inspections, servicing, and repairs to prevent equipment failures.
- Analyze equipment performance data to predict potential failures and take proactive measures.
Troubleshooting & Repairs:- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues with equipment.
- Coordinate and perform repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of equipment issues.
Process Improvement:- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement equipment upgrades and modifications.
- Lead root cause analysis efforts for equipment failures and develop corrective actions.
Inventory Management:- Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts and tools.
- Ensure critical spare parts are stocked and available to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source parts and materials as needed.
Documentation & Reporting:- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and maintenance logs.
- Prepare and present reports on maintenance performance metrics to management.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards for safety and quality.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree or certification in maintenance, mechanical, or electrical engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Technical Skills:- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.
Leadership & Communication:- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Problem-Solving:- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues.
Physical Requirements:- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials and perform tasks that require physical endurance.
