The Microtel Mineral Wells / Parkersburg seeks a motivated, versatile individual to join our team as a Part-Time House Person / Maintenance Assistant. In this role, you will help ensure our hotel remains a welcoming, clean, and well-maintained environment for guests. You will perform a variety of tasks that range from housekeeping and facility upkeep to basic maintenance support. While painting or plumbing experience is a plus, it is not required—we value a positive, proactive attitude above all else!
Key Responsibilities
- General Housekeeping & Cleaning: Vacuuming, mopping, and scrubbing carpets, emptying trash receptacles, restocking supplies, and maintaining overall cleanliness in common areas.
- Basic Maintenance Support: Assist with minor facility repairs (painting, light plumbing work, etc.)—we will provide on-the-job guidance if needed.
- Guest Service Assistance: Respond to guest requests courteously and in a timely manner, providing support to keep their stay comfortable.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow proper procedures and guidelines for handling cleaning chemicals and other supplies.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the housekeeping, front desk, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations throughout the hotel.
Qualifications
- Willingness to learn new skills (painting, basic plumbing, etc.)—no prior experience required.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe environment.
- Ability to lift and move supplies, furniture, and equipment as needed (up to 50 lbs).
- Availability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and excellent communication skills.
