Position Summary

The Vivistim Navigator is responsible for the communication & coordination with individuals who are interested in learning more about Vivistim. The FDA approved the Vivistim system for adult patients who have suffered an Ischemic Stroke and are chronically suffering from Moderate to Severe Upper Extremity Impairment. Vivistim is an implanted medical device that when paired with rehab, promotes neuroplasticity thus allowing a patient with Ischemic stroke to regain fine motor skills.

The Vivistim Navigator serves as the face and voice of the company to patients. Their role is to help the patient through their journey as it pertains to Vivistim. The person will have conversations (phone, email, video) with patients who have opted in to receive information about Vivistim. The primary role is to help answer patient questions and provide approved resources/information as they consider Vivistim as a treatment option. The Vivistim Navigator will follow up with patients periodically through their journey to learn more by answering Vivistim-related questions and connecting them with additional resources as they consider their treatment options. As the patient continues their journey, help them understand any related insurance questions/requirements and support them where needed in the journey towards implant.

This individual is the face of MicroTransponder to the public answering questions posed by patients and caregivers as well as healthcare providers throughout the learning process. The key role includes helping the patient navigate the learning process through the continuum of care including complex referral processes and eventually the procedure itself, related therapy & beyond. This will include helping the patient navigate the Vivistim patient journey from initial interest through advocacy.

This position is vital in assisting patients to have easy access to curated information to make well-informed decisions while creating a path that minimizes the usual hassle of navigating complex health systems for those who decide Vivistim Paired VNS Therapy is the best choice for them.

Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Initial conversations with patients and caregivers, answering any questions and providing resources to support them on their journey to learn more about Vivistim as a treatment option
  • Provide education on Vivistim through immediate phone education where appropriate and/or scheduling for field education when needed.
  • Perform initial virtual education for Vivistim Paired VNS therapy
  • Work with patients and caregivers to ensure quick and easy access to consults, scheduling, implantation and therapy (OT/PT).
  • Regular follow-up with patients and caregivers to answer questions, assist in scheduling and follow-up on typical next steps
  • Work cross-functionally with sales to ensure efficient patient identification and curated materials are used for identified Vivistim candidates and to support HCP needs for Vivistim related education
  • Manage related patient information in CRM system. Maintains updates/plan of action for interested patients desiring Vivistim based on interactions
  • Understand and manages the patient process from identification (self-referral or HCP ID) to implant to rehabilitation from a geographic, capacity and demand perspective


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education level: college graduate with experience in the health professions
  • Current or Recent Licensure related to above when required by licensure
  • Prior experience in the office or hospital setting with experience in patient education and coordination of care
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail, database programs and excellent typing skills are a MUST
  • Experience working in a CRM system such as Salesforce.com
  • Advanced certification preferred (e.g. CCM)
  • Past experience working with stroke, neurology and/or rehabilitation patients
  • Experience educating patients regarding advanced medical devices from a vendor perspective
  • Familiarity with of explanation of benefits and insurance terminology.
  • Familiar with coding/billing language and procedures
  • Ability to travel domestically (2-3x a year) required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to reach; talk or hear in a standard office environment and independently from remote locations. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Ability to travel by car or airplane independently and work after hours is required by travel schedule or business issues. In the case of home-based work, employee must furnish, at their own expense, the office space sufficient to facilitate confidential conversations & meetings without external distractions.

Must be able to work 8am to 5pm Central time zone hours.
