What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment (Calibration) Technician III position at Microwave Power Products?
YOUR DAY TO DAY: (Role summary):
Perform calibration and alignment checks on a wide variety of electronic and mechanical equipment. Support Government/Customer quality audits and surveys. Develop and implement calibration work and maintain and ensure the integrity of calibration records.
YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR: (Responsibilities):
- Performing calibration and alignment checks on a wide variety of electronic, test, diagnostic, and general-purpose instruments such as Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, HiPot Tester, Frequency Counters, Power Supplies, Water Flow etc. Using both automated and manual procedures.
- Calibrate High Voltage Testing supplies. Power supplies can reach voltages greater than 15KVdc.
- Document calibration procedures and results accurately.
- Perform as-is accuracy verification and initiate out-of-tolerance notification if applicable.
- Support Government/Customer quality audits and surveys.
- Develop and implement calibration work instructions as needed.
- Maintain and ensure the integrity of calibration records.
- Provides technical assistance and leadership as necessary.
YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE: (Minimum requirements):
- AA degree in related technology or equivalent technical training plus 4 years' experience.
- Working knowledge of Metrology principles such as measurement uncertainties, test uncertainty ratios, English/metric unit conversions, calibration standard hierarchy, proficiency testing, and other theoretical principles encountered in the assigned field.
- Working knowledge of ANSI Z540 and ISO17025.
- Previous experience in calibration, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Proven ability to calibrate oscilloscopes, analyzers, power meters, etc.
- Experience working with exposed high voltage is required. Must be comfortable in testing High Voltage Power Supplies (>15KVdc) both CW and Pulse types.
- Proficiency in using tools such as DMM, Oscilloscopes, Ohmmeters, and Fluke Calibrators. Must be proficient with Ohm’s law. Must have a strong understanding Basic Electrical Theory.
- Knowledge of liquid flow and temperature calibration a plus.
- Military experience in a technical field is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing error-free work.
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
- Outstanding organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities.
- This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a “U.S. Person” as defined under ITAR and EAR. In order to be a U.S. Person for ITAR and EAR purposes, you must (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or (iii) a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
