ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Must be able to improve working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, and cost) and increase employee skills and capabilities.
- Prepare activity plans for the aforementioned conditions.
- Assist in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedure, safety, quality control and performance management.
- Plans and assigns work and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
- Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager.
- Supervise the personnel involved in the above processes.
- Performs accident investigations and ensures the proper paperwork is completed.
- Maintains proper inventory levels.
- Tracks absenteeism and time-keeping.
- Manages department priorities.
- Provides employee coaching and development.
- Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
Qualifications
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrate ability to lead people and get results through others.
- Strong multi-tasking skills and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to plan ahead and prepare action plans to achieve results.
- Experience with supervising, disciplining, motivating and training employees.
- Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and quality orientation.
EDUCATION
Two years of college or vocational training; or GED/high school diploma and related experience.
EXPERIENCE
Production (manufacturing), carpentry or construction experience.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours to meet the customer’s needs.
