What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct-Master of Science in Counseling position at MID-AMERICA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY INC?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Part-time faculty with in-person and/or online teaching experience for graduate courses in the Master’s of Science in Counseling program. The applicant must possess proper qualifications as well as a strong Christian background and be in agreement with the University’s statement of faith.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide quality instruction of students in graduate Counseling courses.
- Follow the department’s course syllabus, assess and provide feedback on coursework, track attendance, etc.
- Be available to teach courses on campus and/or online as needed to support the goals of the University.
- Regularly and effectively communicate with the Program Director, School Chair, and/or Program Coordinator.
- Respond to students, faculty, and staff in a timely manner.
- Utilize current technologies and incorporate current topics as they relate to course materials.
- Support the mission and goals of the University.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills necessary to the position.
- Flexible in meeting scheduling needs for online and/or on-campus courses.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Doctorate in counseling or related field with at least 18 graduate-level Counseling credit hours from a regionally accredited institution.
- Higher education teaching experience strongly preferred.
- Professional practical experience in counseling required.
- Current Professional Counselor License or equivalent Clinical Mental Health License strongly preferred.
- Experience with various teaching delivery formats (on-ground, virtual, online, blended) preferred.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Proficient with learning management systems, such as Canvas, D2L, Blackboard, etc.
- Proficient with virtual delivery systems, such as Google Meet or Zoom.
- Proficient with productivity software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel or Google Docs.
