POSITION SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Adjunct Professor of Nursing to join our academic team. This role involves delivering high-quality clinical, SIMs, lab, and classroom education in various nursing disciplines to prepare our students for success in their future careers. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of nursing principles and the ability to convey these concepts to students with clarity and enthusiasm. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide instruction in an array of nursing courses depending on expertise such as OB, Pediatrics, ICU, and Medical Surgical Nursing,
- Engage students through dynamic facilitation methods and foster an environment conducive to learning.
- Assess student performance through assignments, projects, simulations, and labs and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain office hours to offer additional support and guidance to students as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS and EDUCATION:

Master’s degree or above in Nursing or related field
- Adjunct faculty for the RN-BSN Pathway must posses a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate-level credit hours in the field.
- Adjunct faculty for the AAS in Nursing could enter with a BSN if enrolled in a Master’s program and able to earn a minimum of six graduate-level credits per year (January to December). A faculty mentor/lead instructor is required for this scenario.
- Registered Nurse holding a valid, non-restricted license to practice in the State of Oklahoma
- Minimum one year of nursing work experience
- Prior teaching experience in Nursing is highly preferred
- Strong foundation and practical knowledge in various nursing areas, as indicated by the courses to be taught
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles
- Flexible schedule, which may include nights and weekends
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, faculty, and staff
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Web conferencing (e.g. Zoom, Google Meet)
- Exam software and test banks (e.g., Kaplan, ExamSoft). Training provided, if needed.
- Simulation Lab instruction experience preferred
- Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, D2L)
- Google apps and/or Microsoft Office
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands as appropriate for successful performance in this position (e.g. clinicals, teaching and interacting with students).
