POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for planning, processing and overseeing student account activities, while also promoting student success and retention through various initiatives within the Bursar Office by means of the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide excellent and considerate customer service via in-person, telephone, and email communication with students and other staff and faculty
- Communicate about and follow up on student accounts in an effective and timely manner
- Resolve account discrepancies by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students and other faculty and staff
- Complete help desk tickets as assigned
- Resolve student billing discrepancies and reconcile student accounts for billing accuracy
- Coordinate with the Financial Aid Office on any overage amounts that may need to be returned due to student drops or withdrawals
- Coordinate with the Financial Aid Office and other faculty for student aid/balances each semester/term
- Collaborate with the Enrollment Department to verify that students have adequate financial resources to cover their tuition and fees prior to enrollment.
- Process and maintain overage reports for each disbursement batch for accounting purposes
- Maintain balances on student accounts for payment plans and collections for all inactive students with 0-30 day activity
- Understand, process, and assist current & new students with payment plans as needed
- Review Payment Plan reports weekly for accuracy and missed payments
- Process payments related to student accounts
- Maintain a weekly subsidiary control list to ensure students are in the correct subsidiary
- Maintain accurate records of communications with students
- Obtain and email tuition invoices to students and student’s employers
- Review and maintain financial aid return amounts on student accounts creating a credit, and contacting for payment, if needed.
- Research student’s questions or concerns
- Accurately file student information as needed
- Text, call, and/or e-mail correspondence to students, as needed, in order to update accounts
- Create and update policy and procedure manual
- Participate in team planning meetings
- Contribute to and meet department goals and activity metrics, including OKR goals
- Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Bursar’s Office

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Jenzabar, information software, and Microsoft Office & G-Suite.
