What are the responsibilities and job description for the Faculty Clinical Lead position at Mid-America Christian University?
POSITION SUMMARY
Mid-America University seeks a full-time Nursing faculty member with in-person and online teaching experience for undergraduate courses in the areas of OB, Pediatrics, ICU, Medical Surgical Nursing, ER, and ICU. Attend and participate in departmental meetings, school functions, and serve on college committees and Nursing Committees as required. A successful applicant will possess a strong commitment to MACU’s mission and Christian faith.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach courses on-ground within the School of Nursing as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
- Primary teaching duties in the area of expertise.
- Develop nursing courses including necessary laboratory components in the areas of the candidate’s expertise.
- Develop and / or follow the department’s course syllabi, grading assignment rubrics, attendance records, and maintain / update lab materials as assigned.
- Substitute for absent clinical instructors at clinical sites when necessary.
- Support other full-time faculty with preparations and maintenance of lab supplies.
- Respond and effectively communicate with the co-chairs on a regular basis.
- Work with the Lab Manager to schedule any missed lab assignments for students with school - sponsored events.
- Maintain proficiency in lab procedures for all assigned Nursing labs and Simulations.
- Available to teach courses in the time slots needed to support the goals of the University
- Other pertinent duties as assigned by the School of Science and Math
