What are the responsibilities and job description for the Export Specialist position at Mid-America Overseas, Inc.?
Position duties and responsibilities:
- Review export documents for accuracy
- Prepare and present Letter of Credit Documents
- Dispatch export loads and cargo pick-ups, confirm cargo delivered to carrier
- Track export shipments and advise customer of potential schedule changes if applicable for the client
- Prepare export documents, file AES and Bill of Lading Instructions prior to vessel cut-offs.
- Ensure timely distribution of transport documents and billing of freight
- Negotiate rates with carriers and provide quotes to customers
- Problem solve with the Export Manager when situations arise that can or do negatively effect our clients and their customers
- Communicate with all parties in a transaction in a clear, concise, professional manner
- Above all, provide outstanding, uncompromising customer service
Requirements
- Knowledge of US Customs Regulations regarding US Exports
- Country Requirements competence
- Letter of Credit knowledge and experience preferred
- Good transportation background, FCL, LCL, rating, routing, documentation
- Ability to work in a fast paced demanding environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Export experience minimum 2 years
- High school diploma, 2 or 4 year college degree beneficial
